Officially re-Open!

Welcome back music freaks! Some of you have already noticed that WMR was back up and running some tests over the last week and have been tuning in, for that we are grateful! We are officially back airing 24/7 and looking forward to a great year with you. Starting off 2008, we have added the Classic Metal Show to our list. 6 hours of classic metal, talk and general insanity for all you insomniacs out there. Saturday's show features Doro, definitely a don't miss experience!

Our song library keeps growing and we have added a song upload feature to our main site to help your group submit new music to us easier. If you haven't noticed from our playlist, Quagmire and I play a pretty wide variety of music and we look forward to evaluating new music for our station. We are still looking for more local music to add in the hopes of having a weekly show of all local talent.

With special thanks to Mark at Silent Planet Promotions, the first "new to us" group we are adding to the rotation is (drum roll, please!).... Fountain of Tears. I can admit I was a little sceptical when I read that they were a female fronted prog rock band, but I am truly impressed with these Pennsylvania rockers!

Remember to join our website and send us some feedback as to what we can do to improve!

We're coming back!

Guys, we must apologize for being gone so long...  Our Day Of Silence ended up being several months due to overwhelming fears of being hit with $1500 in fees for our streams.  So rather than have that nasty surprise, we opted to shut down and wait out the Internet Radio Equality Act or some other sort of sanity to return to our industry.  Unfortunately, it has not happened yet.  But we cannot wait any longer...  So starting with the new year we will be back online.  We will be contacting our affiliates and determining any show/schedule changes needed to get rolling again.

Again we apologize for our absence and look forward to providing you the great music we've become known for!  Look for us January 4th.

Day of Silence, June 26

In opposition to the impending royalty rate increase, WMR will participate in the Day of Silence on Tuesday, June 26th. We will be joining thousands of broadcasters shutting down their streams to draw attention to our plight. Unless the "Internet Radio Equality Act" (IREA) (H.R. 2060 in the House and S. 1353 in the Senate) receives enough support to pass, small broadcasters like us will have to pay 17 months' worth of retroactive royalty increase payments are due to the SoundExchange collection organization under the terms of a recent Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) decision. This will effectively put many of us out of business. Please call your Senators and ask for their support. http://www3.capwiz.com/saveinternetradio/issues/alert/?alertid=9738601

New Music site promotes unsigned artists 100% !

Ok, I know this is a month late, but I just found out about it and wanted to share this great idea with you... BENICIA, Calif. (April 29, 2007) Today earBuzz.com, LLC, the independent online music retailer, announces a complete solution for music artists as the first and only music store to offer both digital downloads and CD sales with 100% of the purchase price paid back to artists. The move makes earBuzz.com the most generous online music site on the net, providing artists more income than, in most cases, artists’ own sites. The business model is unique to the industry.

Action Alert! SAVENETRADIO.ORG

Finally there is some movement to bring sanity back to our broadcasting world.

Representative Jay Inslee (D-WA) and eight cosponsors, has introduced the Internet radio Equality Act (View here).

This Bill provides 5 major provisions:

Yeah we're here, just slow the last few weeks... My "paying" job has
had me running nearly 24/7 and Quagmire is dealing with a loss in his family.

When I started the Pennsylvania Rock Show, it was only a 1 hour long show... it
slowly expanded to 3 hours.
